Great Museums don't just happen: from the curators to the docents to the publicists to the plethora of volunteers, ATOM is fortunate to have a wonderful family of people who create the Museum, year after year. ATOM has no paid staff; volunteers come together each year to raise money for various civic and charitable organizations. From flood relief to Girl Scout troops to student scholarships to youth centers, ATOM has contributed thousands of dollars to help in our own small ways.
Brevard Curator Stephen Jackson began his "career" in aluminum trees when a lone, scraggly tree was given to him by Katie and Donna Waterman in 1991. When he's not curating, he designs custom homes in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina.
Nashville Curator Terry White first visited the Brevard Museum with Nashville friends in 2001, and is now co-Curator. His regular job is event planning, under the business name of The English Garden.
Corey Schoff (not pictured) has for many years been the Museum's exhibits creator and plant expert. He has developed the species nomenclature for the tree varieties, created the old growth forest displays, and designed numerous Museum layouts. In his real life, he does Custom home design and Landscape Architecture.
Ayn Clayborne (not pictured) is ATOM's official Museum photographer. She has skillfully captured the spirit of ATOM and aluminum trees, both in the Museum and in the wild. Several of her photos can be found on this website. Ayn recently retired from a federal government position, allowing her more time to pursue fun things such as photography.
